Programs for Food, Water, and Famine Relief

In 2003, Djenné residents were suffering from the effects of a prolonged and severe drought and the Initiative provided, as a one time emergency measure, both rice and sorghum for 300 families in need. Projects in development include the growing of a large-scale organic mango orchard, and an educational program for water conservation. Through the Bambana Youth Club, about 20 undernourished Djennéké teenagers are fed three meals seven days a week.
