Programs in Public Education and Outreach       As an educational public service, Jean-Louis Bourgeois produced and directed a 22-minute documentary film, "Dam Nation" and most recently has produced and directed a 14-minute documentary film "An African River Rises: Struggle Against the Talo Dam" on the impact of the proposed Talo Dam. A 58-minute film will document the importance of water and rivers in everyday Malian life and how a fragile ecosystem could be destroyed if a large-scale dam were to be constructed. The film also demonstrates how the people of Djenné would lose their homes and livelihoods through resulting starvation.
